This week, we continued working on our collages, and in our older class, we started an exploration of the Romanticism movement in art, examining examples found in American Western and Indigenous art.

Romance Reimagined is an exhibit running from February 8, 2025 – April 13, 2025 in Marilyn and Calvin Gross Gallery of The Autry.
"About the Exhibition: Award-winning paintings and sculptures collected through the Autry’s Masters of the American West annual art exhibition and sale compose this exhibition that explores the role of romanticism in contemporary art. A style of art originating in the late 18th century that quickly spread across Europe and the United States, Romanticism emphasizes emotion, imagination, and immersion in nature as the source of beauty and truth.
In Western art today, Romanticism is associated with depictions of the natural world, noble creatures, and conjured histories. Come and experience the West as it has been imagined to be, but also as it is: a place indelibly shaped by the enduring appeal of its historical image."
